1. Who is responsible (data controller)

The controller for the processing described here, within the meaning of Article 4(7) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), is:

We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer. Article 37 GDPR does not require one for processing of this nature and scale. Privacy enquiries go to the address above and are handled by the responsible editor, Mark Jackson.

2. What is processed when you read a page

To send you a page, the web server necessarily receives and handles your IP address, the URL requested, the time of the request, the HTTP status returned, the number of bytes sent and the user-agent string your browser supplies. This is unavoidable: without your IP address the server has nowhere to send the reply.

• Purpose: delivering the page you asked for, and keeping the server secure and operational (detecting attacks, abuse and faults).
• Legal basis: Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in operating a functioning and secure website. We consider this interest not to be overridden by your interests, since the data is minimal, is not linked to any identifier we control, and is not used to build any profile.
• Retention: server logs are kept for a short operational period and then deleted. They are not exported, combined with other sources, or used for analytics or marketing.
• Not done: no profiling, no automated decision-making, no cross-site tracking, no advertising measurement.

3. Cookies and browser storage

None are used. The site stores nothing in your browser and reads nothing from it. Because we set no cookies or equivalent storage requiring consent under Article 5(3) of Directive 2002/58/EC (the ePrivacy Directive), there is no consent banner to click. The cookie policy explains how to verify this yourself in about thirty seconds.

4. If you e-mail us

When you write to info@veldator.online we receive your e-mail address, your message and any information you choose to put in it.

• Purpose: reading and answering your message.
• Legal basis: Article 6(1)(b) GDPR where your message concerns a pre-contractual or contractual matter, otherwise Article 6(1)(f), our legitimate interest in replying to correspondence addressed to us.
• Retention: for as long as needed to deal with the matter, and afterwards only where a legal obligation or the defence of a legal claim requires it. Correspondence with no continuing purpose is deleted.
• Recipients: our e-mail provider processes the message in order to transmit and store it, under a processing agreement. We do not pass your message to advertisers, vendors or anyone else, and we do not add you to any mailing list.

Please do not send us sensitive personal data. Ordinary e-mail is not an encrypted channel and we have no need for such data.

5. Partner links and what happens when you follow one

Pages on this site contain links marked “partner link”. These are ordinary hyperlinks. Nothing is loaded from the vendor while you are on our page, and we do not know whether you click one: we run no click tracking and receive no report from the vendor that identifies you.

When you do follow one, you leave this site. From that moment the destination site is the controller for whatever it processes, under its own privacy policy, which will very probably include cookies and advertising identifiers. Our zero-collection promise covers this site only and cannot extend to sites we do not operate. Read the destination's own policy.

Our links carry rel="sponsored nofollow noopener" and a strict-origin-when-cross-origin referrer policy, which means the destination is told which site you came from but not which page you were reading.

6. Recipients and international transfers

We do not transfer personal data outside the European Economic Area. The site is served from within the EU. We use no processor other than the hosting provider and the e-mail provider described above, each bound by Article 28 GDPR processing terms.

7. Your rights

Under Articles 15 to 22 GDPR you have the right of access to your personal data, and rights to rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing rests on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

Exercise any of these by writing to info@veldator.online. We answer within one month, as Article 12(3) requires. In practice, if you have only read pages on this site, we hold nothing that would let us identify you, and we will tell you so — we are not able to search server logs by name, and Article 11 GDPR does not oblige us to acquire additional data in order to identify you.

8. Complaints

You may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of your habitual residence, place of work or the place of the alleged infringement (Article 77 GDPR). The authority competent for the publisher is the Czech Data Protection Authority (Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů), Pplk. Sochora 27, 170 00 Praha 7, uoou.cz. We would appreciate the chance to resolve the matter first, but you are not obliged to contact us before complaining.

9. Children

This site is not directed at children and we knowingly process no data relating to them. Since we collect nothing, no age verification is performed or needed.

10. Security

The site is served over HTTPS with HSTS enabled. It is a set of static files: there is no database, no user account, no login form and no upload. The most effective protection of your data here is that there is none stored to protect.

11. Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of the page. If a change ever meant we began collecting personal data, we would say so prominently rather than quietly amending the text.
